Riester CEO Explores Trust, Simplicity, and the Future of Medical Devices

Admin | 25 March 2026

Riester has proudly released a podcast interview featuring President & CEO Davide Nocentini, in conversation with host Peter Birch, recorded live at WHX Dubai. The episode offers a look at how the medical device industry is evolving and how Riester is positioning itself for the future. It explores the widening gap between technological capability and clinical reality, and why trust, simplicity, and user‑centred design are increasingly emerging as key differentiators in healthcare innovation.

Foundational principles
Technology Moves Fast — But Clinical Practice Moves Differently

Davide opens the conversation by reflecting on the rapid acceleration of technology in recent years. While innovation creates enormous opportunity, it also introduces complexity that clinicians must navigate.

“Technology evolves faster than clinical practice, creating a perceived gap between what we can do and what we actually do.”

This gap, he explains, is where medical device manufacturers must step up — not by overwhelming clinicians with features, but by delivering clarity and confidence.

Quality Is No Longer About Durability — It’s About Trust

In the past, quality was measured by whether a device lasted. Today, the definition has shifted dramatically.

“The problem is not durability. The problem is: can you reliably and consistently provide information on a specific case?”

For Riester, this means designing diagnostic tools that clinicians can depend on — not just mechanically, but informationally. Trust becomes the core value, and data becomes the currency of that trust.

Simplicity as a Strategic Advantage

As the industry consolidates and competition intensifies, Davide warns that complexity often masquerades as innovation. But complexity, he argues, can undermine quality rather than enhance it.

“Complexity is the natural enemy of quality. The core has to be simple and reasonable.”

Riester’s approach focuses on reducing friction, eliminating unnecessary steps, and ensuring that every feature serves a clear clinical purpose.

User Expectations Are Changing — Fast

Clinicians increasingly expect medical devices to match the intuitive, seamless experiences they encounter in consumer technology. This shift is reshaping how products must be designed.

“Today what really matters is the value delivered — how the user perceives the technology.”

Ease of use, clarity of information, and intuitive interfaces are no longer optional — they are essential.

Trust Must Be Earned, Not Assumed

While regulatory compliance remains critical, Davide emphasises that true trust goes beyond certificates and approvals.

“You gain trust by making it easy… you have to earn trust.”

This philosophy guides Riester’s product development: build tools that support clinicians, respect their expertise, and simplify their workflow.

A Vision for WHX Dubai 2026 and Beyond

The conversation also touches on Riester’s preparations for WHX Dubai 2026, where the company will showcase its next generation of diagnostic solutions. The themes of trust, simplicity, and meaningful data will be central to Riester’s presence at the event.
